An old shoemaker’s shop, an old weaving shop, newspaper archives: Anyone looking for Tönisvorst’s living history is well advised to visit the two Tönisvorst heritage houses. The heritage house in Vorst, Kuhstrasse 6, is open Mondays 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and, among other things, offers a representation of an old shoemaker’s shop. Furthermore, comprehensive newspaper archives are available for anyone to conduct research or simply browse. Even students can find a rich collection of historic information along with competent contact persons on location to help enrich homework papers. The same goes for the “Heritage Porcelain Store”, the home base of the St. Tönis Heritage House, located on the Antoniusstrasse 6. Aside from ever changing exhibitions, you can view a replica of a weaving shop as well as the Rixen Inn. When there are no exhibitions, the Heritage House is generally open Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. the respective addresses are listed below:
